Platform Security & Fraud Prevention
UniTix is engineered to provide complete protection for campus event organizers and attendees. The platform prevents ticket scalping, duplicate entries, and screenshot fraud without requiring complicated hardware.1. Dynamic Rotating QR Codes
Traditional static barcodes and screenshots can easily be forwarded or printed multiple times. UniTix prevents this with dynamic rotating passes:- Time-Based Refresh: The QR code displayed on the student’s phone automatically updates every few seconds.
- Anti-Screenshot Defense: If an attendee takes a screenshot and shares it, that image expires shortly afterward and will be rejected at the entrance gate.
- Safe Display: The pass only displays a secure verification token that can only be validated by official UniTix scanner apps, keeping user accounts and credentials safe.
2. Secure Offline Gate Operations
For venues with limited or no mobile internet connectivity:- Pre-Event Local Sync: Gate staff can download the verified event attendee list before entering the venue.
- On-Device Verification: The scanner app authenticates tickets on-site without needing an active internet connection.
- Automatic Cloud Reconciliation: As soon as the scanner connects to Wi-Fi or mobile data, all entrance logs are automatically uploaded to the live cloud dashboard.
3. Multi-Gate Coordination
When an event has multiple entrance doors operating offline:- Gate-to-Gate Communication: Scanners communicate directly with one another over local wireless connections.
- Instant Double-Entry Prevention: When an attendee is admitted through Gate 1, all other gate scanners are immediately notified on-site, preventing someone else from entering through Gate 2 with the same ticket.
- Accurate Entry Sequence: Every check-in is logged with an exact timestamp and gate location.
4. Multi-Society Scope Isolation
To protect privacy and ensure clean event management across universities:- Society Boundary Protection: Authorized organizers and gate staff can only scan and manage events belonging to their assigned society.
- Cross-Society Guard: A staff member from Society A cannot scan or alter tickets for an event hosted by Society B.
