Giving Your Ticket to Someone Else
While you cannot simply screenshot your digital pass to give it to a friend (because our gate scanners detect duplicate and revoked screenshots), UniTix provides an official, secure Ticket Transfer Engine. This system guarantees that the recipient student receives a brand new, cryptographically signed QR code (qrToken) tied directly to their own student profile and university roll number.
[!WARNING] Society Policies & Restrictions: Certain high-security campus events or university workshops may have ticket transfers disabled by the organizers. If the Transfer Ticket button is disabled or greyed out on your ticket card, that specific event strictly prohibits transfers.
1. How to Initiate a Transfer
If your plans change and you want to gift or sell your ticket to a classmate:- Log into your Student Dashboard (
My Tickets). - Locate the specific approved ticket you wish to transfer.
- Click the Transfer Ticket button (
Send/Shareicon) on the ticket card. - The UniTix backend securely generates a unique, single-use Cryptographic Transfer Link (
/transfer/[id]). - Click Copy Link to save it to your clipboard.
- Share this link directly with your recipient via WhatsApp, Email, or Campus Discord.
2. How to Claim a Transferred Ticket
If someone has sent you an official UniTix Transfer Link:- Click the link (
unitix.aarx.online/transfer/abc-123...). - Log in or register for a verified UniTix Student Account (you cannot claim a ticket without a verified profile and roll number).
- Review the ticket details on the claim page (Event Title, Date, Venue, Tier).
- Click Claim Transfer.
- Within milliseconds, the backend executes a secure ownership swap and deposits the ticket into your My Tickets wallet.
3. Cryptographic QR Revocation (Security Notice)
To prevent ticket scalping and screenshot duplication fraud at venue gates, our transfer system enforces Instant QR Revocation:- Automatic Revocation: The exact moment a transfer link is claimed by the recipient, the original owner’s QR code (
qrToken) is permanently revoked in the global database. - Gate Scanner Protection: If the original sender attempts to scan a saved screenshot or printout of their old QR code after transferring it away, the gate scanner will instantly sound an alarm and reject entry with:
Security Validation Failed: This ticket QR code has been revoked due to a transfer. - New Token Generation: A completely new, unique QR token is generated exclusively for the recipient, ensuring clean 1-to-1 gate validation.
