Transparent Cancellation Policies

At UniTix, cancellation eligibility and penalty deductions are governed by each organizing society’s customized refund policy. Because societies book physical venues and arrange catering based on ticket numbers, cancellation rules vary depending on how close to event day you submit your request.

1. How Tiered Cancellation Penalties Work

When an organizer launches an event with refunds enabled, they configure strict time horizons. Before completing your checkout, you can inspect the exact policy on the event page:

Typical Multi-Tier Penalty Example:

  • Tier 1 (e.g., More than 7 Days before event): You receive an 80% refund of your ticket price. The society retains a 10% penalty cut, and UniTix retains 10% for gateway reversal costs.
  • Tier 2 (e.g., 48 Hours to 7 Days before event): You receive a 50% refund. The society retains 30%, and UniTix retains 20%.
  • Final Window (e.g., Under 48 hours): Cancellations submitted within 48 hours of event commencement receive a 0% refund.

2. Universal Platform Protections

Regardless of individual society settings, all student checkouts are protected by two universal platform mandates:

🛡️ 24-Hour Buyer’s Remorse Guarantee

If you accidentally purchase the wrong ticket tier or date and click Cancel Reservation within 24 hours of your purchase timestamp (and the event is more than 48 hours away), you are automatically granted a 100% full refund without penalty deductions.

🛑 48-Hour Final Lock

Once an event is less than 48 hours away, automated cancellation requests are locked across all standard tickets (0% refund). This ensures event organizers do not suffer sudden financial deficits or empty seating during final logistics prep.

3. How to Request a Cancellation & Refund

If your plans change and your ticket is within an eligible refund window:
  1. Log into My Tickets (unitix.aarx.online).
  2. Click on the ticket card you wish to cancel.
  3. Click Cancel Reservation.
  4. A confirmation modal displays the exact refund calculation (PKR) based on the current time window.
  5. Confirm the cancellation. Your ticket is immediately voided (cancelled), and the freed inventory slot is automatically transferred to the waitlist.
  6. Processing Timeline: Eligible refund amounts (PKR) are credited back to your original payment account or processed via direct bank wire within 5 to 7 business days.

4. Organizer-Initiated Event Cancellations

If a society postpones or completely cancels an event:
  • 100% Mandatory Refund: The organizing society is legally and contractually bound to issue full, 100% reimbursement to all confirmed ticket holders.
  • UniTix Operations manages the bulk refund distribution, ensuring every student receives their full payment back without any penalty deductions.
