Getting Started with UniTix — Complete Onboarding Guide

This guide walks every type of user through the exact steps required to create an account, verify credentials, access their role-specific dashboard, and begin using the platform.

1. Student Account Creation and Campus Verification

Who This Is For

Any university student who wants to discover campus events, purchase tickets, present digital passes at event gates, transfer tickets to classmates, join waitlists for sold-out events, or claim post-event attendance certificates.

Step-by-Step Onboarding

Step 1: Create Your Account
  1. Open your browser and navigate to https://unitix.aarx.online.
  2. Click Login / Sign Up in the top-right corner of the page.
  3. Enter your primary email address. You may use your university email (e.g., student@university.edu.pk) or a personal email.
  4. Create a strong password (minimum 8 characters).
  5. Click Create Account.
Step 2: Verify Your Email Address
  1. Open your email inbox (check spam/promotions folders if you do not see it).
  2. Find the email with the subject “Verify Your Email Address” from UniTix.
  3. Click the verification link inside the email. Your browser will redirect you to the UniTix dashboard, confirming your email is verified.
Step 3: Complete Your Academic Campus Profile
  1. After logging in, navigate to Profile in the sidebar or top navigation bar. The profile page is at /dashboard/profile.
  2. Fill in the following fields:
    • Full Legal Name: Enter your name exactly as it appears on your university student ID card. This name will appear on your digital passes and attendance certificates.
    • University Registration / Roll Number: Enter your exact enrollment number (e.g., 2022-CS-101, 21-EE-045, or FA21-BCS-042). This number is permanently printed on your QR passes and verified certificates and cannot be changed after initial entry without contacting support.
    • Department: Select your academic department (e.g., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Business Administration).
    • University Campus: Select your university from the dropdown list.
    • Profile Headshot Photo: Upload a clear, front-facing portrait photograph for your verified student profile and digital campus badge.
  3. Click Save Profile.
Step 4: Understanding the Verified Campus Student Badge
  • Accounts that register with official university email domains (e.g., @nust.edu.pk, @lums.edu.pk) or whose roll numbers are validated against university records receive the Verified Campus Student badge.
  • What the Badge Unlocks:
    • Access to events marked as University Only (visible only to verified students of that campus).
    • Access to Student-Only ticket tiers with special reduced pricing.
    • Eligibility for verified attendance certificates after events.
    • Priority positioning in automated waitlist queues.
Step 5: You Are Ready to Use UniTix
  • Browse events in the Campus Marketplace (/dashboard/events).
  • Purchase tickets and present your dynamic rotating pass at the gate.
  • Install Student Offline App (unitix_student.apk): Download the native Android APK to securely cache your passes on your phone so you can generate dynamic QR passes and enter venues with zero internet connection. (See Student Offline Pass App).
  • Transfer tickets, join waitlists, claim certificates, and download payment receipts.

2. Society President and Executive Team Registration

Who This Is For

Presidents, Vice Presidents, General Secretaries, and Executive Directors of university societies, clubs, departments, or student organizations who want to create and manage events, collect ticket revenue, and operate gate check-in infrastructure.

Step 4: The Verification and Approval ProcessAdministrative Compliance Review (24 to 48 hours)
  • Platform operations staff manually review your submitted application.
  • They verify your society name matches a real student organization at the claimed university.
  • They validate the IBAN format and bank details.
Faculty Advisor Endorsement
  • An automated email is dispatched to the Faculty Advisor email address you provided.
  • The email contains a secure link. When your Faculty Advisor clicks to confirm their supervision, your society receives the Verified Society blue checkmark badge.
  • This badge signals to students that your society is a legitimate, university-endorsed organization.
Dashboard Access Activation
  • Upon successful review and advisor endorsement, your account role is upgraded.
  • Your navigation bar immediately updates to include the Society Dashboard.
  • You now have full access to: 8-Step Event Builder, 5-Tab Marketing Hub, Society Wallet, Sponsors Hub, Team Management, Payment Verification Queue, Gate Scanner APK, Live Gate Telemetry Monitor, and Analytics.

3. Event Manager and Team Member Onboarding

Who This Is For

Officers, coordinators, or volunteers invited by a society president to help manage events, verify manual payments, or view analytics. These users do not have full society admin access — they operate with delegated permissions.

How It Works

  1. The Society President or Admin opens Team Management (/society-dashboard/managers).
  2. They click Add Manager and enter your email address.
  3. They assign you one or more permissions:
    • Event Manager: Create and edit events, view attendee lists, manage ticket tiers.
    • Manual Payment Verifier: Review and approve/reject student-uploaded bank transfer receipts.
    • Analytics Viewer: View dashboard metrics, revenue charts, and download CSV exports.
    • Gate Scanner: Access the mobile scanner app at /scan to check in attendees at gates.
  4. You receive an email invitation. Click the link to accept and log into your account.
  5. Your sidebar will show only the sections you have been granted permission to access.

4. Gate Scanner Volunteer Onboarding

Who This Is For

Student volunteers or security staff assigned to operate the gate check-in scanner at event venues. These users need access to the scanner app only.

Step-by-Step Setup

Step 1: Receive Your Credentials
  • The society executive adds you as a team member with the “Gate Scanner” permission (see Section 3 above).
  • You receive login credentials (email and password).
Step 2: Access the Scanner Application
  • On Android Phones: Download and install the native scanner APK provided by your society team. This APK is optimized for fast camera scanning and works offline.
  • On Any Other Device: Open your browser and navigate to https://unitix.aarx.online/scan. The web-based scanner works on any device with a camera.
Step 3: Log In and Select Your Event
  • Enter your assigned email and password.
  • The screen displays event cards for events you have been assigned to.
  • Tap the event card to open its scanner interface.
Step 4: Download Offline Manifest (If Scanning Without Internet)
  • While your phone still has Wi-Fi or cellular signal (e.g., before walking into a basement venue), tap the Download Manifest button on the event card.
  • This saves the complete verified attendee list to your phone’s local storage.
  • You can now scan every attendee’s pass without any internet connection. Every scan is validated against the locally cached manifest.
Step 5: Begin Scanning
  • Tap Start Gate Scan. Your phone camera activates.
  • Point the camera at each attendee’s phone screen showing their dynamic QR pass.
  • The scanner instantly displays:
    • Green screen + success sound: Valid first-time entry. The attendee’s verified name, roll number, department, tier, and payment status appear on your screen for physical student card matching.
    • Red screen + alert sound: This pass has already been scanned (duplicate entry attempt).
    • Amber screen: This pass belongs to a different event.
    • Grey screen: This pass is expired, revoked (transferred), or is a stale screenshot.
Step 6: Multi-Gate P2P Mesh Pairing (Optional)
  • If your event has multiple entrance gates with separate scanner phones, tap the Event Hub button (green wireless icon) on the event card.
  • All scanner phones in range connect to each other via local wireless mesh.
  • Scan records are shared across all phones in real time, so an attendee who enters through Gate A will show as “Already Scanned” at Gate B — all without internet.
